28th April 2011: SNES Wolf3D Music Tracks

Ken O'Brien has re-recorded some of the Wolf3D music from SNES.

The first track is available on Mediafire and is Evil Incarnate. (9.85Mb)

27th April 2011: Unsung SDL Released

Nembo has released 'Unsung', a 10 level set which is World War I based. The levels are very well made. Virtually all the graphics have been changed and along with the new sounds and music give the game a feel of its own. Code changes include gun bobbing, intrart, ingame messages, textured floors/ceilings and a lot more. It all blends together very well and feels more like a new game rather than a mod. There's more info and the download at Mod DB. Also available here. Based off Wolf4SDL code and is Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

25th April 2011 Havoc's Wolf3D (HWE) Editor Released

Havoc has released the first public version of HWE, a Wolf3D editor. The current version of the editor includes the following features:

- Map support for Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold, Blake Stone: Planet Strike, Corridor 7, Operation Body Count, Spear of Destiny, and Wolfenstein 3D

- Exporting and importing (multiple) maps (in ChaosEdit, HWE, FloEdit, MapEdit, and WDC map format)

- High and low byte editing (e.g. useful for the textured floor and ceiling feature)

- Ability to search for and replace tiles / objects in a map

- Maps up to a size of 256x256 tiles

- Built-in map symbols editor

- Undo / redo functionality

- Unlimited plane support

- Unlimited map support

- Clipboarding

- Map editing

- Autofloor

23rd April 2011: 2nd Dome Award - April 2011

The second April 2011 Dome award goes to M2 SOFTWARE for 'DeathTrigger'. The game has a high degree of originality and has some code change effects not seen in a Wolf3D mod before. For more info on this set, please see Add-ons - Awarded.

22nd April 2011: Dean's Wolf 3D Blog Updated

The latest Wolfer Q&A series post on Dean's Wolf 3D Blog features Richter Belmont. Also included is a useful list of all Richter's mods in one place. It's at Dean's Wolf 3D Blog.

22nd April 2011: Dome Award - April 2011

13th April 2011: End of the Third Reich Source Code Released

Penguindog55 has released the source code for 'End of the Third Reich'. He has decided to release it for anyone who wants to use End of the Third Reich as a base for their own mods. Detailed instructions are included to make setting it up as simple as possible and credit is given where appropriate. Available here.

11th April 2011: Hitler Strikes Back SDL Version Released

Havoc has released the Wolf4SDL version of 'Hitler Strikes Back'. There are 20 nicely designed and decorated seamless levels with mostly original graphics. This version includes the following changes (compared to the DOS version): Different sprites for Dr. Schabbs (Created by General Blitzkanonier), extended bonus maps and an updated and improved helpart. Available here. Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

10th April 2011: DeathTrigger Released

M2 SOFTWARE has released 'DeathTrigger'. The 10 new action-themed levels are well made. Most of the levels were made by Nexion and Atina, and Jayngo made the secret level. Nearly all of the graphics are new and hand-drawn. Code changes include extended view, useable objects, a new item and much more. It all fits together well. There's a detailed text file and manual included. Available here. You can also get it from M2 SOFTWARE.

4th April 2011: Wolfenstein Sextilogy 3 SDL Released

Executor has released 'Wolfenstein Sextilogy 3 SDL'. There are now 30 levels comprising the first three episodes of a planned 6. The levels are extensive and well made. This release is a quantum leap over the previous edition, with a new Windows engine with many new features such as additional digitized sounds, floor/ceiling textures, and improved controls. A Dos version is also included. One known issue is that the F8/F9 quicksave/quickload keys are rather unreliable so please use F2/F3 for saving and loading games. Credits are contained in a text file in the zip. Available here. The SDL version is Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

4th April 2011: Absence SDL Version Updated & Other Havoc News

Havoc has updated the SDL version of Absence. He has added some text messages that were missing in the Wolf4SDL version of Absence. He's also added some Wolf4SDL related bugfixes and updated the SDL DLLs. It's available on Havoc's Wolfenstein 3D Page or here. A patch containing just the updated files is also available from the Havoc page link.
Two new tutorials have been added to the Havoc page in the tutorials section. They are "Read This!" in Wolf4SDL (for Spear of Destiny), and Log files in Wolf4SDL (A feature from Absence).
Havoc has also decided to create a Wolf4SDL version of Hitler Strikes Back which will have some slight changes compared to the DOS version. Namely the changes are: Different sprites for Dr. Schabbs and extended bonus maps. Havoc hopes to release the Wolf4SDL version within the next week

30th March 2011: Wolfenstein Sextilogy Update

Executor tells me that the mapping is done for his upcoming 'Wolfenstein Sextilogy Episode 3' and it is currently being tested. There's a video of the first level at YouTube.

29th March 2011: Wolf3D Community Map Pack SDL patch - v. 2.20

Tricob has updated the Wolf3D Community Map Pack SDL version with another patch. The Save Game option after "You Win!" is corrected, all ratios at the Level Complete screen now run the same speed, and all Adlib sounds should now function 100% correctly. All Windows-based saved games from older versions should still function. You can find it here.

29th March 2011: Wolf3D Community Map Pack SDL v. 2.20 - Source code update

Tricob has updated the Wolf3D Community Map Pack SDL version source code another time. The Save Game option after "You Win!" is corrected (WL_INTER.CPP), all ratios at the Level Complete screen now run the same speed (WL_INTER.CPP), and all Adlib sounds should now function 100% correctly (ID_SD.CPP). All source code files are included. You can find it here.

16th March 2011: Help Needed for a Medieval Mod

Gary Acord and Matt Stath want to make a medieval mod with coding changes. If you find medieval, Egyptian, or Greek Mythology graphics in a Wolfenstein 3D or Spear of Destiny mod, would like to submit your own, or have other ideas to help, then please contact Matt at stathmk@yahoo.com.

14th March 2011: Escape From Reichstag Updated

Joe M has updated his 'Escape From Reichstag' mod. A mapping bug on level 16 preventing access to the exit elevator has been fixed. The new version replaces the one that was previously available. You can find it here.

12th March 2011: 1945 The End Of The Third Reich Phase 2 Final Released

Here's the first released mod from Penguindog55. It is called '1945 The End Of The Third Reich Phase 2 Final'. There are 60 seamless levels that are extensive and well designed/decorated. Some levels have outdoor scenarios. There is a mix of original, imported and new graphics/sounds and there is also new music. It all seems to blend together very well. Code changes include 25 ammo crate added, changed floor/ceiling colours and boss action replays removed. There's a detailed doc file included. Available here.

12th March 2011: Amazing Grace SDL Exe Updated

The exe that comes with the 'Amazing Grace SDL Version' has been updated. Changes include increased actor/static object limits, and the removal of the spear entry questions. The coding was done by jpb6891. Available Amazing Grace SDL Version.

12th March 2011: Conflict In The Fatherland SDL Version Released

Here's a new addition to our SDL list of mods. It's BJ Rowan's 'Conflict in The Fatherland'. There are the same 60 very well designed levels and modified graphics. Code changes include new episode names and were done by Mr. Gerolf. The professional flavour and atmosphere of the original game still remains. Available here. Needs the 2 audio files from the full version of the Wolf3D game to play. Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

8th March 2011: Gerolf Games Update

Gerolf Games has announced some upcoming add-ons.

They are 'Wolfenstein 3d 2', 'Holy Grail' and 'Operation: Gerolf'.

7th March 2011: This Spear SDL Released

Dark_wizzie has released 'This Spear SDL'. There are 21 extensive levels made to a very high standard of mapping. Some imported graphics have been added but the original Spear feel has been retained well. Coding was done by WL Hack and includes increased static object and actor limits. A very enjoyable set. Available here. Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

6th March 2011: Life On The Streets Episode 1 Released

Here's an old-school total conversion but virtually everything has been changed. The ten levels are well made and include a wide range of scenarios. It all fits well together and looks very professionally done. A text file with a lot of info is included as is a well illustrated helpart. Made by Racquetball1987. Available here.
