IRONY Update |
|
|
Lakota Bucksnort
tells me that her upcoming addon called 'IRONY'
is to be released soon. It will be a 10 level
Spear Of Destiny set with some original
graphics and some from Paderborn. There
will also be some code and music changes. The
levels will be quite extensive and challenging
to play. There's just a little more level
editing to do and it's expected to be released
in about two
weeks.

WolfMenu And DOSMenu |
|
|
Here are two DOS
programs from Andy Nonymous that some wolfers
with large collections might find useful:
WolfMenu and DOSMenu. Fully configurable by the
user, they have a search feature, and each
supports up to 600 entries. Both programs come
with several practical examples and plenty of
documentation. Available here. Wolfmenu 3.2 replaces
the old version 1.2 posted on "Mr. Lowe's" under
Extras/Cheats.

Star Wars 3-D Released |
|
|

Here's a very old
shareware set that I've not seen before. It's
called 'Star Wars 3-D'. The graphics changes are
pretty cool though the sounds haven't been
changed and the maps have been altered only to
show off some walls. Available here. Thanks to Andy Nonymous
who found this set at the Da Warren Memorial File
Area #13.

Wolfenstein RPG Demo
Released |

|

Joshua Waight has
released a 2 level demo of his upcoming

suggests, this is not a FPS but a RPG. It looks
quite professionally done, and though it's a
different type of game, the
Wolf3D atmosphere is still there. Please
note though, the download is more than 5Mb.
Available here.

6th June 2007:
Multiplayer Engine
HUGE Update |
|
|
Here's an email I
received from JJ Erickson, concerning the
Wolf3D Multiplayer Engine: Ok it's another
awesome update from Carnevil and I - the new
Multiplayer Engine - almost a year in the making
will be available for a closed beta
testing.
There are 5
deathmatch arenas, 2 co-operative levels and 1
capture the life orb level. This is a huge event
for the classic Wolfer community and I'd like to
thank Carnevil for some of the skulltag source.
Carnevil says "there are also 3 new bosses for
single player in addition to 3 new weapons, a
flamethrower, a grenade and a
landmine".
A new script master
to the group coded the game types. His name is
Joseph van Hoche - he is a complete master to
the multiplayer engine code. Also, I re-did some
of the graphics in the game to suit this new
engine: -added deathorb (kills player
on sight). -added advanced teleporter
(has animated warp sprite just like
Doom). -added new menu items
(unlockables, cheats, online play, join game,
scroll bar, adv. controls). -it's in
its own client! - thanks to
Joseph. Message to all: if you've got
time, head on over to my IRC chat
server:irc.Caelestia.net (or
org).

Der Angriff (The Attack)
Released |
|
|

Raphael (also known
as maximator) has released 'Der Angriff (The
Attack)'. There are 60 new levels that are large
and very well decorated. The graphics are a mix
of new and original graphics and there are real
German sounds and new music. The code changes
include textured walls and ceilings, 200 max
ammo and there is both German and English
helpart. The menu and status bar is in German.
It all blends well together and keeps the
original Wolf3D feel intact, though the game has
a feel of it's own too. Available here.

4th June 2007:
Tricob's 64x64 Images
Released |
|
|

Here's an email
received from Tricob: "My TC's plans have
officially changed - I'm moving from the
original SOD palette and 64x64 images to 128x128
images with a different palette, so all the
64x64 images I've already made for my mod aren't
going to be used. I'm therefore releasing the
64x64 version of the walls and sprites to the
general public for use in their own TCs. There's
two new enemies, six new treasure items, several
new wall images (Sorry about the gaudy mansion
wall; the palette worked against me), and a few
other new sprites." Available here.
