Mäx has sent in a new trailer called 'Evil Dead Trailer'. It lasts 39 seconds and can be viewed in 'Windows Mediaplayer' but requires the 'Angelpotion Codec' for Video format. You can also use 'VLC Player', which doesn't need any video codecs. It contains an animation of more than 100 self-made pictures and is available here. (1.29Mb)

28th October 2006: Space Loons For Wolf3D SW - New Site/Demo

Dr. Von Loon has been working on a new addon called 'Space Loons For Wolf3D Shareware'. There's quite a comprehensive webpage for the addon, including several screenshots. A demo is now available for download too. Currently, it has 9 levels plus a secret level. Everything is being replaced, including new textures, new creatures and new music.

It's at Space Loons For Wolf3D Shareware. There are also links available from there to the main Wolf3D and DOOM pages.

28th October 2006: Star Wars (Unfinished) Released

Here's an unfinished addon called 'Star Wars' that Mäx has released. It could be useful as a base to make a new addon as there are a number of new graphics and code changes. This version has only 3 simple demonstration levels (one each on episodes 1 to 3) but the effects are good. Available here.

27th October 2006: New Wolf3D Site

Wolfenstein3D Fan has a new website. So far it has links to all his addons, plus news of an upcoming addon called 'Operation Rheingold', which will have new enemies, new sounds and new graphics.

It's at Wolfenstein 3D Fan - Wolf3d.

23rd October 2006: The Lost World Part 4 - The Mage Guild Maps Update

Kyo Kusanagi's latest set 'The Lost World Part 4 - The Mage Guild' has a maps update. It fixes a missing end level object bug on level 38. The maps only update is available here, but the full zip has also been updated and is available here. Please see October 9 post for more details on this set.

14th October 2006: Kill Him 3 Part 1 Released

Just one level here in this sequel from Wolfenstein3D Fan. It's called 'Kill Him 3 Part 1' and it's for SpearOf Destiny. The level is fairly extensive though it can be quite difficult to get past the first few rooms. However, some hints are given in the enclosed story text file. There are a number of graphics changes though the Spear feel remains. More levels will be released in a later version. Available here. Needs the full version of Spear Of Destiny to play.

10th October 2006: New Wolf3D Site

Here's a new Wolf3D Site. It's hosted by Insurrectionman and has partly been made to provide news on his upcoming set 'DOOM: Legions Of Hell'.

It's at Crack Software's Wolfenstein 3-D Site.

9th October 2006: The Lost World Part 4 - The Mage Guild Released

Kyo Kusanagi's latest set is 'The Lost World Part 4 - The Mage Guild'. It has 40 levels, most are quite extensive and well detailed, though some I have seen before in other sets. The game has a medieval feel and the new graphics and sounds seem to blend in well with those imported from elsewhere. There are a number of code changes including intrart, multi ceiling and floor textures, doors opening from the middle, 2 new weapons (Dark Wand and the Bloodwand) and a new ammo type: Green Mana. Available here.

4th October 2006: Drawings Collection

Here's a collection of drawings that were sent in by Paco. They may take some time to load.

3rd October 2006: Spear Of Destiny Mission Pack 2 Demo Released

Krystal's first release is a set of maps called 'Spear Of Destiny Mission Pack 2'. This demo version has 10 completed maps - a complete 21 level version will be issued later. The maps are quite extensive, well decorated and most need a lot of thought to complete them. Many of the levels need at least one pushwall to be opened to get through. This is quite a good set for a first release and I'm looking forward to seeing the final 21 level version. Available here. Needs the full Spear Of Destiny game to play.

1st October 2006: The Lost World Part 4 Screenshots

Here's a set of pics from Kyo Kusanagi's upcoming set 'The Lost World Part 4'. Kyo tells me that it has multi floor and celling textures, 2 new weapons, around 40 levels, intermission screens, and has a Castlevania Feel to the mod. Mac Mendoza is making some of the maps.

29th September 2006: All This And Wolf 3D/New Screenshots

Thomas Weiling has sent in a set of 8 pics taken from his upcoming new version of 'All This And Wolf 3D'.

20th September 2006: Dome Awards - September 2006

This month's Dome awards go to Megabyte for 'Spear Of Destiny Mappack' and ack for 'Archives - Volume I'. Both are excellent examples of well designed mapsets. For more info on these sets - please see Add-ons - Awarded.

19th September 2006: NedStats Link Removed

I've recently had complaints regarding the popups that occasionally appear when visiting the news page. They are caused by the link to Nedstat, who told me that these popups would normally only occur a few times a week. However, they seem to be appearing more often than that lately so I have taken the link off. There is already another stats counter on the page though it is not as comprehensive.

16th September 2006: Gods Of The Ethereal Reality

Here's a new set of maps for Spear called 'Gods Of The Ethereal Reality'. It's by demondude777, and the 16 new maps are of a fair size with good decoration. Virtually all the graphics are from the original game though there are many new sounds. There are some out of place looking walls on a couple levels but I'm told it's part of the effect. Text file included. Available here. Needs the full version of Spear Of Destiny to play.

13th September 2006: Help Needed

Here's an email from James Shain, requesting help for his upcoming addon: "Hi, my name is James Shain and I need some people to help with an addon I am currently working on called Final Fight2 (working title). I am looking for some people to help with coding and some people to help with graphics (walls and guards).

later, James Shain"

You can contact James at lilmanjs@yahoo.com.

13th September 2006: A World Of Rage Released

Joshua Waight has released 'A World Of Rage'. The 8 levels are of a fair size and in one single episode. There's a mix of old and new graphics, many new sounds, and a hard hitting soundtrack including music from Quake 2 and Halo! A detailed doc file is included. Available here. Updated later on Sept 13 with a new version (fixes an 'enemy throws tables' bug).

5th September 2006: Guns And Glory Screenshots

Little Cherub has sent in a set of pics from his upcoming set 'Guns And Glory'. It should be ready later this year, or early next year. Overall progress is about 72%.

3rd September 2006: Bug Fix For The False Spear Released

WLHack has released a maps patch (v1.7) for 'The False Spear'. It fixes a missing key bug on level 5. Although it was possible to exit the level via a secret elevator, it was not possible to access the normal exit elevator. Click here for the 'maps only' patch. The full zip file has also been updated and is available here.

3rd September 2006: Bug Fix For Wolfenstein Reloaded Released

KFH Games have released a third patch for their 'Wolfenstein Reloaded - Final Version'. This version contains some new exe updates, plus some minor map and intrart changes. Although 'saved games' from the earlier versions won't work, the unlocking of later episodes (config file) will. Click here for the patch. The full version has also been updated and is available here. Needs the original AUDIOT.WL6 and AUDIOHED.WL6 files from the full Wolf 3D game to play.
The versions I have posted are in rar file format but other formats are available from
KFH Games, including a self-extracting exe version.

3rd September 2006: Spear Of Destiny Mappack Released

Megabyte has released a new set of 21 maps for Spear Of Destiny. It's called the 'Spear Of Destiny Mappack' and all 21 levels are extensive, well designed and nicely decorated. There are no graphics or sound changes though some basic code changes like ceiling colours and par times have been made. Slight adjustments have been made to the status bar due to an extra score slot. The coding was done by WLHack. Will especially suit those who like the original Spear game. Available here. Also needs the audiohed.sod, audiot.sod, and vswap.sod files from the original full Spear Of Destiny game to play.

2nd/3rd September 2006: Desktop Themes Collection

Here's a collection of Wolf 3D and Spear Of Destiny desktop themes, wallpapers and screensavers etc. The set was sent in by Dean, who found it on his computer. Most of the files date from 2000/2001. Ryan de Haast has since told me that he made all of the set, apart from a screensaver.

Available here. (558Kb)
