The bot can finish most maps completely and, thanks to being a computer, has instant reflexes. It's called Automatic Wolfenstein, or AutoWolf for short. You can see it on You Tube here. The release address (currently version alpha01, most likely stable, but printz still has to program some more tactics into the bot) is here.

This level set includes 10 new levels for episode 1 plus the ceiling colours have been changed to match the wall texture mostly used in the level. The levels are very creatively decorated but still true to the original Wolfenstein style. Available here. Needs the full version of Wolf3D to play.

5th May 2012: Thomas Wolfenstein 3-D Mapset Released

Here's a map set from Thomas Weiling containing maps for the first three episodes - in connection with Wolf's 20th anniversary. Thomas thought it'd be appropriate to do a basic map set, with most maps remaining in style with those of the originals; wall textures and sprite selection are based on those from the original maps (e.g. Gray Stone 3 only in Episode 3 etc.). Available here. Needs the full version of Wolf3D to play.

Art: DoomJedi
Main mapper: RonWolf, secondary mapper: Dean.
Sounds and music: Lozer_42

3rd May 2012: Guns and Glory 0.5 The Story Retold SDL/New Music EXE Build

Metalor tells me that this new exe build fixes two of the games remaining bugs so now the player can change the music volume without effecting the sounds volume, and the player will hopefully no longer experience the random crashes that occur when the game's music loops.
This build comes with all of the game's various songs in OGG format (converted from MIDI to IMF to OGG), and thus is MUCH larger than the original release file. This build is suggested only for those who either prefer the original IMF-esq format of the game's music or for those who experience the music-crashing bug frequently, otherwise, Metalor suggests that players should not bother with this build.
Available from
Mediafire. Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

3rd May 2012: Spear of Destiny: New Sequel

Here's Sam Geng's latest add-on for the full version of Spear of Destiny. The mod is based on Megabyte's SOD Mappack. It brings 21 levels, music from Blake Stone, and some minor graphic changes. Most of the levels are from Megabyte's mappack, but they have been slightly modified. The Blake Stone music is arranged on the dungeon and castle levels. The mod retains the original Spear of Destiny feel. Available here. Needs the full version of Spear to play.
There's also a video available at
You Tube.
